If you haven’t paid for an item you won in an auction or bought using Buy It Now, the seller can open an unpaid item case. However, you may be able to appeal the unpaid item by providing some extra information.

If a seller opens an unpaid item case, we’ll look into it. If we find that the item you purchased still needs to be paid for, we’ll record the unpaid item on your account.

Tip
When you win an auction or buy an item using Buy It Now, you’re contractually obligated to pay for it. You can find out more in our unpaid item policy.

How to appeal an unpaid item

If you have an unpaid item recorded on your 4Bike account and want to appeal it, you should file an Unpaid Item Appeal form or select the button below.

You’ll need to provide proof that you paid for the item, that the seller changed the terms after you won it or bought it, or that your account was taken over at the time the item was purchased. We accept the following forms of proof:

  • Emails between you and the seller showing the item was paid for
  • A copy of your payment confirmation email or statement from your payment provider (such as your credit card or PayPal)
  • Positive feedback the seller left for you about the transaction. You can include the item number in the Unpaid Item Appeal form and we’ll look into it
  • Communications from the seller excusing you from the transaction, such as an email from the seller saying you didn’t have to go through with the sale

Always include the email headers when you’re providing emails or messages as proof.

Appeal your unpaid item

Unpaid item records can be removed if you can provide proof that you’ve paid or that the seller changed the price, shipping costs, or payment method after the sale.
