Returns, missing items, and refunds for buyers
In most cases, if your order doesn’t arrive or is faulty or damaged, you’ll get your money back or a replacement. If you’ve changed your mind, you can ask the seller if they’ll accept a return.
4BiKE Cycling Marketplace Return Policy
At 4BiKE Cycling Marketplace, we aim to ensure a smooth and satisfactory shopping experience for both buyers and sellers. If you need to return an item, here’s what you need to know:
How to Start a Return
If you wish to return an item, you can initiate the process from your Purchase history. Follow the steps outlined in our guide:
How to return an item from your Purchase history
What Happens After You’ve Started a Return?
Once you’ve initiated a return, the seller has 3 business days to respond. Their response will depend on the reason for your return:
Damaged, Incorrect, or Not as Described Item: If the item arrives damaged, does not match the listing description, or is the wrong item, the seller is required to provide a resolution. This could include offering a replacement or issuing a full refund.
Changed Your Mind: If you have changed your mind about an item, returns will depend on the seller’s return policy stated on their product listing.
Checking an Open Return Request
You can keep track of the progress of your return by selecting Check your return status below or by viewing it in your Purchase history:

Sending the Item Back
When your return request is accepted, you will receive a return shipping label from either the seller or 4BiKE, or you may be asked to purchase one directly from a carrier. If you are required to purchase a return shipping label through 4BiKE, the cost will either be deducted from your refund or charged separately via PayPal. The party responsible for covering the return shipping cost will depend on the reason for the return. For more details, see our return shipping policy.
You will also be given a deadline by which you must ship the item back. You can find this date in the details of your return request, sent to your Messages with the subject “Send the item back.” If you do not ship the return by that date, your request may be closed, and a refund will not be issued.
Important: Ensure you provide a tracking number when returning the item to avoid delays or issues in the refund process. If you use a 4BiKE return label, tracking details are automatically uploaded. If using a non-4BiKE label, the seller may have added the tracking number for you; if not, please manually add it to your return.
Condition of Returned Items
The condition of the item you return is important, so be sure to pack it carefully. If the item is returned used, damaged, missing parts, or is damaged during return shipping due to inadequate packaging, sellers may deduct from your refund to cover the loss in the item’s value. For more details, see our Condition of returned items policy.
Tip: If the item cost is £500 or more, it must be returned with a signature confirmation. Learn more about our signature confirmation requirements.
Receiving Your Refund
Once the seller receives the returned item, or if they agree to let you keep the item while still issuing a refund, they have 2 business days to process the refund. You will receive an email notification when the refund is issued.
- PayPal Refunds: Typically take 3 to 5 business days to process.
- Credit Card Refunds: Can take up to 30 days, depending on your card provider.
Need Help from 4BiKE?
Most issues can be resolved directly with the seller. However, if the seller does not respond or resolve the issue within 3 business days, you can ask 4BiKE to step in and assist. This option is available within 21 business days of opening your return request. Learn more about asking 4BiKE for help.
Canceling a Return Request
If you’ve decided not to proceed with a return after opening a request, it’s simple to cancel it. Be aware that once a return request is canceled, it cannot be reopened. See how to cancel a return request.
Misuse of Returns
Abusing the return process or the 4BiKE Money Back Guarantee can result in various actions, including blocking your ability to request returns or refunds, opening claims, losing 4BiKE Money Back Guarantee coverage, or even account suspension. Activities considered misuse include:
- Opening duplicate requests using other buyer protection programs
- Colluding with a seller to misdeclare an item’s value for customs
- Filing a chargeback after receiving a refund
- Claiming an item was not received when proof of delivery exists
- Returning an item other than the original item received
- Using or damaging an item and then returning it
